Dr. Angel Ramón
Aranda Campos
Researcher appointed at CIMAT-Mérida by CONAHCyT
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán,
a Master of Science with a specialization in Computing and Industrial Mathematics from the
Centro de investigación en Matemáticas (CIMAT), and a Doctor of Science with a focus on Computer Science,
also from CIMAT. My experience encompasses both teaching and industry work. I have taught courses at
the undergraduate and graduate levels. In the industry, I thrived as a data scientist,
tackling various projects centered on data analysis and modeling from diverse sources.
These projects culminated in the creation of specialized algorithms for problem-solving.
My academic background, combined with industry experience, has fostered my ability to work and develop within
multidisciplinary research groups. This includes collaborations in the healthcare field with doctors, nutritionists,
marine biologists, neurobiologists, and genomics experts. Since 2019, I have been a distinguished Researcher for Mexico
(CONACyT). Currently, I am commissioned to CIMAT-Unidad Mérida, conducting research in computer
vision and data science applied to national challenges. Additionally,
I hold the honor of being a member of the Sistema Nacional de Investigadores Level I.
